Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about RelocDesk.

How do I create a new relocation project?

Go to the Projects page (folder icon in the nav), then click "New project". Fill in the destination, household details and target date. Each project has its own map, kanban, budget and comparators.

How do I use the interactive map?

The Map displays all your places on a geographic background. Click a marker to see details, use the search bar to add a place by address, and filter by category with the top buttons. You can also add a place directly from the map using the + button.

How does the Places Kanban work?

The Kanban organises your places into 6 columns: To sort, To contact, Contacted, Visited, Favourite, Rejected. Drag cards from one column to another to update their status. Favourites also appear highlighted on the map.

What is Journey Mode for?

Journey Mode lets you plan a visit tour: select the places to visit, reorder them by drag-and-drop, and get an optimised itinerary. Perfect for organising a day of apartment or school visits in your future city.

How do I manage tasks and admin steps?

The Tasks section offers a 3-column kanban (To do / In progress / Done) with priority levels. You can link a task to a specific place for context. Use AI generation to get a list of typical steps for your destination.

How does the Budget work?

The Budget lets you log expenses by category, split them between household members (Tricount-style), and track who owes what. The Stats tab gives a summary by category and month. You can export to CSV.

How do I use the AI Search?

From the map or kanban, click the AI button (robot icon). Describe what you're looking for (e.g. "French international school in Paphos"). The AI queries Google Search in real time and suggests up to 3 verified places with address, phone and description. Import them directly into your project.

How do I use the Comparator?

The Comparator helps you compare different offers side by side (apartments, health insurance, phone plans…). Create a comparator, add offers with their features, and mark your favourite. Offers can be reordered by drag-and-drop.

What are the Expat Guides?

The Guides are free information pages on the main expat destinations (taxation, healthcare, education, housing, cost of living, visa…). Available without registration at relocdesk.com/guides. Currently covering 5 countries and 7 cities in 4 languages.
