Visa and residency
As a member state of the European Union, Cyprus applies freedom of movement for EU, EEA and Swiss nationals.
- EU/EEA citizens: no visa required. For stays longer than 3 months, register with the Civil Registry and Migration Department (MEU1 certificate, the yellow slip), with proof of income and health insurance.
- Non-EU nationals: temporary residence permit (the pink slip), renewable yearly with proof of income and accommodation.
- Digital nomad visa: open to non-EU remote workers showing a net monthly income of about EUR 3,500.
- Permanent residency by investment: granted on the purchase of a new property worth at least EUR 300,000 (excluding VAT).
- Category F: for people with stable and sufficient passive income (notably retirees).
